Which Type Solar Street Light is better: All in One, All in Two or Split version?
According to physical structure of solar street lights, we can sort of solar lights in market kinds of all in one integrated solar light, all in two solar lightsand split type solar light, then someone may have questions: which type will be the best, how can we choose the proper one? I believe you will have ability of selecting most suitable combined with our own demands after relevant knowledge required.
Split solar street light
I would like to introduce split street light at first stage, because split solar light is the earliest solar light in the market, then all in two, followed by all in one version then. The both(AIO & AIT) is developed and optimized based on split solar street light.
Advantages of split solar street light(bigger scale system)
The biggest/most advantage feature is flexible combination of every main components(battery, solar panel, led module) and every key components have good customized capacity, so the total system can be customized according to customer unique requirements. Then flexibility is its best feature and advantage. But combination is not so good/convenient to terminal user/installer as they need to understand how to wire different kits, it is a heavy and professional job, which may lead to wrong wiring sometime.
Split solar street light still occupies major position in large power solar lighting market. Because large power or longer working hours requires more electricity consumption, which supported by larger battery capacity and solar panel. While all in two version has limitation of battery capacity for reason of battery bin size, all in one has limitation of solar panel size.
All in Two solar street light
Aiming to solve high installation cost and difficult of split solar street light, we get optimization and have all in two solution. We put battery, controller and LED source integrated into a lighting fixture as total fitting, so solar panel and integrated fitting as all in two solution. It is sure all in two solution requires battery must be lithium battery, which has lighter weight and smaller size.
Advantages of all in two solar street light
1. Easier installation: Because led source, battery and controller has been wired in LED modules fixture and lead to only one wire(positive and negative pins) to solar panel before leaving factory, installer just connect the wire to solar panel when he install at site, which save much labor and decrease many error rate, the split version has 3 wiring leads and all in two just has 1 lead. Usually our solar panel junction box has sign of red is positive lead and black is negative lead, very easy to connect for non-professional users. What’s more, we can also provide plug replacing wire pins, not wiring errors anymore.
2. High Cost-effective：compared to split solution, in same technical parameters, all in two does not need battery case, which can save cost, besides, customers does not need to install battery, which can save labor cost and time.
3. more power options and wider application range: according to all in two solution develops and popularize, more and more moulding solutions coming out in the market, there are different size options and shapes. So we have more options on led power and battery bin size, 4W-120W are available by now. Which means all in two solution can be applied for pathway, main road, parking lot and etc.
Limitation of all in two version
1. Limit for large power system: Because the size of battery bin is fixed and cannot changed, so the battery bin do not enough to meet larger battery capacity requirement. Among demands of larger power, longer lighting time, more lasting days in rainy weather, we need to compromise one or two items, or get a balance among them.
2. Limitation in high-cold region: as you know, battery capacity will be shrunk in high-cold region and we usually bury battery in ground to keep temperature not so low. While the battery is fixed in battery bin integrated to lighting fixture. We will use special battery cell which can be working in low temperature, while this kind of battery is not cheap, so it increase cost in high-cold area.
All in One solar street light
All in One solar street light means integrating battery, controller, LED source, solar panel to one lighting fixture. It is good for transportation, installation, while it has some limitation in region where is short of sunshine.
Advantage for All in One Solar Light
1. More convenient installation, no wiring: all wires have been connected in factory, installers do not need to wire in process of installation.
2. More convenient transportation, save transport cost: all components are integrated together and packed in one box, size will be smaller and freight is lower.
Shortage of all in one solar street light:
1. Lower charging efficiency: solar panel size and power are fixed as its lighting fixture size is fixed. For getting more sunshine area, the installation angle usually is fixed as 15°, so the solar panel angle is 15° around. As we know, solar panel need to adjust different installation angle to get max sunshine in different latitude regions, so solar panel charging efficiency will be affected(equator regions are except) if the fixed 15° always. For example, most regions in China, the installation angle should be 30°-45°, while the angle difference is 2-3 times if all in one solar street light angle is 15°. what’s more, solar panel cannot adjust direction for all in one type solar lights, which can be affect charging efficiency.
2. Lower lighting efficiency:
a. Still the reason of size, battery and solar panel can not be customized, which means it does not support large power syste.
b. Lighting angle, because LED and solar panel is integrated and their angle must be same, so lighting angle cannot be adjusted.
c. Length of arm: most of all in one solar street light is installed on main pole(no arms), which means the lights is a little far away from road, so some area of road can be covered specially for wide main road.
3. Motion sensor: most All in One Solar Lights has motion sensor to save electricity.
4. high cost in maintenance: we need to dismantle the whole light from pole, not like all in two or split type.
5. High price: Although all in one indeed save some raw material cost, while its price is not low in market, even it is more expensive than all in two type at same technical parameters.
Application of all in one solar light
Although all in one solar street has some limitation, while it will be good option if installation region is proper.
1. Installation region: Low latitudes with excellent sunshine, because good sunshine can reduce the limitation of power issue, and low latitude can solve problem of solar panel installation angle, so all in one is good applied in Africa, Middle East, East South, most countries in Latin America and etc.
2. Application place: Garden, pathway, parking lot and etc, these kinds of roads usually for people for walking and its lighting demand is not so high, all in one light is enough, also all in one can be used main road.
